ISA² - programme for interoperability solutions and frameworks for European public administrations, enterprises and citizens, as means to modernize the European public administrations 2016-2020

ISA² programme will support cross-border and cross-sectoral interaction. The Decision to create ISA², as inheritor of ISA programme, is adopted on the 25th of November 2015.

By using ISA² solutions, administrations can ensure interoperability between different information systems responsible for the delivery of electronic services, thereby ensuring seamless electronic cross-border or cross-sector interaction between public administrations, businesses and citizens.

ISA² will replace and extend the scope of the ISA programme. Among supported under the ISA programme activities are tools for the creation and verification of electronic signatures, cross-border eHealth systems and open source software in support of the European citizens’ initiative.

The programme will support activities to assess, improve and re-using existing interoperable solutions and develop new ones.  Other activities that may be supported are those for impact assessment of proposed or adopted Union legislation on information and communication technologies (ICTs) or to support the identification of legislation gaps that embarrass interoperability between European public administrations.
