Three Companies Declared Their Participation in the Building of the Landscape Arrangement of Sofia Airport

Three companies submitted their offers for the building of the landscape arrangement and the surroundings of the new airport terminal of Sofia Airport. The final date ran out yesterday, March 26, 2007 at 17 o'clock, local time. The offers were opened today at 10 o'clock am, in the Ministry of Transport. The firms which have declared their participation in the tender and have offered the following prices are:

  • PATISHTA I MOSTOVE EOOD VARNA - 7 199 998,85 Euro
  • JOINT VENTURE FLIGHT-GLAVBOLGARSTROY AD и GBS INFRASTRUCTURE CONSTRUCTION - 6 158 952,58 Euro
  • BUILDING DEVELOPMENT HOLDING LTD - 10 517 347,50 Euro

The development of the landscape arrangement of the airport surrounding area is part of the project "Reconstruction, Development and Enlargement of Sofia Airport" which aims to increase the capacity of the airport, to reach category III, according to the world standards for servicing of passengers, and to the prescriptions of ICAO, as well as to decrease the harmful influence upon the environment. The completion of the landscape arrangement is one of the conditions for fully conclusion of the project for reconstruction and development of Sofia airport.

The landscape arrangement of the new terminal building and the surrounding area aims to create harmonic and environmentally clean surroundings. The project includes functional dividing of the terrain and differentiation of separate zones for sport, business; ground and fortification works and lying of humus layer, afforesting and grassing. With its building, possibilities for recreation and various sport activities for children and adult passengers will be created, as well as for the citizens of Sofia.

The project-constructing works are financed by the European Commission on a Financial Memorandum 2000/BG/16/P/PT/002, signed on October 12th, 2005, as well as with Bulgarian co-financing.
