Minister Mutafchiev Will Meet His Colleague Oliver Wittke

The Minister of Transport Peter Mutafchiev will meet the Minister of Building and Transport of the province Nordrhein-Westfalen Oliver Witke on June 4^th, 2007, in the Ministry of Transport, at 11 am. Minister Wittke will come to Bulgaria on a work visit, for the time 3 - 5 June, 2007.

Oliver Wittke will also have talks with the management of "BDZ" Ltd and NC "Railway Infrastructure", as well as with representatives of transport companies from Sofia.  The German delegation will visit also the German-Bulgarian Industry and Trade Chamber.

Minister Mutafchiev will introduce to his guest the policy of the Ministry in the field of Railway transport. Matter of the talks will be also the possibilities for cooperation between Bulgaria and Nordrhein-Westfalen by the realization of projects for modernization and development of the railway infrastructure, in connection of its integration in the European transport infrastructure, according to the European standards for modern, environment friendly and safety railway transport.

An accent in the coming talks will be the development of the public passenger's transportation in the town and the surroundings, and the idea for the growing importance of the railway transport in the servicing of that transport sector, especially in the rush hours of the day.

The Bulgarian side will present to its colleagues from Nordrhein-Westfalen information about the investments planed in the transport infrastructure of Bulgaria, as well as the status and the development perspectives of the project Danube Bridge2.

Nordrhein-Westfalen is a leading Investor from German side in Bulgaria. The province has large investment potential, because of the concentration of multinational companies and the big number of middle range and small companies on its territory. The good business contacts are a solid precondition for cooperation in the technological renovation and modernization of the production capacity of our country, for the know-how exchange, for the education of the Bulgarian leading cadres and for the technological management of the Bulgarian partner-companies.
