Three Projects Presented for the Building of the Transport Junction Burgas

29.06.2007
The Minister of Transport Peter Mutafchiev participated in the public discussion of the project for creating of a transport junction – railway station, port, bus station in Burgas. Three projects were presented to the audience, which should answer to the following criteria:

The east part of Port Burgas must be freed from load/unload activities, in order to build a passengers terminal on the spot.

A conceptual urban development solution for this part of the port territory, should be presented, in order to make a connection between the railway station square and the Marine garden, thus to open the town in direction to the port area and the sea.

The developments shall find a solution, which to adapt part of the existed buildings for their new function and together with the construction of new capacities and spaces to create an environment, bearing the character of a modern passenger terminal.

The offered ideas shall illustrate the possibilities for volumetric-yielding, functional, and communicative solution on this area and together with the requirements of the future investor to serve for further project developments.

The building of a modern administrative and business center is being foreseen, which to create an environment with high level of organization for the development of the sea business and the commerce in the region and the town. It will become a headquarter for the SE “Port Infrastructure”, the administrations with control functions, the operators of Port Burgas, shipping agencies and other companies connected to the sea industry.
