Minister Moskovski presented in Qatar opportunities for concessions of Bulgarian ports and airports

Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski presented the Bulgarian-Qatar Business Forum for concession opportunities in Bulgarian ports and airports. The forum was held within the official visit of Bulgarian delegation in Qatar from 13 to 15 March.
Objects that can be developed through concession are airports in Sofia, Balchik, Plovdiv, Gorna Oryahovitsa, and parts of ports in Varna and Ruse said Ivaylo Moskovski. He added that the strategy for development of civil airports, ports for public transport of national importance and railway stations in Bulgaria through the mechanisms of concession provides for attracting private sector in construction, development and management of major transport projects. According to him the expertise of the private sector will attract innovative technology solutions to improve service quality and lead to an increase in passengers and cargo, served by major transport projects in Bulgaria.
During the visit, the Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov has offered Qatari counterpart Sheikh Hamad Bin jazz Dzhabra Bin Al-Thani, Qatari investments to participate in several infrastructure projects such as restoration of the airport in Balchik. Within 3-4 months is expected Qatari Prime Minister to visit Bulgaria and to finalize decisions on infrastructure projects discussed today.
