Tsvetan Tsvetanov, Deputy PM and Interior Minister, Valery Borissov, Deputy Minister of Transport, IT and Communications and Avgustina Tsvetkova, Deputy Minister of Defence opened the second South East European Regional Forum on Cybersecurity and Cybercrime. The event brought  together representatives of leading ICT companies, financial institutions and non-governmental organizations and officials from the law enforcement agencies in more than 20 countries, including United Kingdom, USA, Russia, Ukraine, representatives of the Europol, the Interpol, the European Commission and the Council of Europe.

Valery Borissov said the main problem is the lack of consensus on terminology between the countries. He stressed the importance of common definitions. He compared the need for rules relating to cyberspace, with good traffic - we all drive cars complying with common rules. The approach for cyber security should be similar.

Valery Borisov said each year worldwide occur more than 1 million new viruses and that number continues to grow. "The threats appear everywhere - from criminal backgrounds, from countries engaged in cyber espionage, from political motivated hackers and lest but not least by terrorists using modern technology to attract followers. It is extremely important in coordination with law enforcement agencies in the country to find an adequate response to counter cyber threats that surround us every day " Borisov said.
