Deputy Minister Andreeva: Renovation of railway station complexes in Sofia-Pernik-Radomir direction is forthcoming

In the next Programming Period under the Transport Connectivity Program we will modernize railway station complexes in the direction Sofia-Pernik-Radomir. This is what the Caretaker Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Neli Andreeva said ат the opening of the renovated reception building at Kazichene Railway Station. According to her, the specific parameters of the projects will be known after the approval of the Program by the European Commission.

"Within the current Programming Period, we have allocated over BGN 30 million from the Operational Program on Transport and Transport Infrastructure for the modernization of railway station complexes in the direction of Sofia-Burgas", Deputy Minister Andreeva announced. She added that the railway stations Poduyane, Kazichene and Karnobat had been completed, and within a year the rehabilitation of the railway station complexes Iskar, Stara Zagora and Nova Zagora would be completed.

"The renovation of Kazichene Railway Station was completed on time, despite the difficulties caused by the interaction with the project for modernization of the railway line Sofia-Elin Pelin", Neli Andreeva said. She noted that the activities for reconstruction of the railway on the territory of the station complex were underway and the deadline for completion of the entire route between Sofia and Elin Pelin was until the end of 2022.

The Project "Reconstruction of Kazichene Railway Station Complex" is worth BGN 1 155 653 without VAT, and the contractor of the construction activities is DZZD "Kazichene Build 2018", including the companies "Building Comfort" EOOD, "Trace –  Sofia" EAD and "Thermo Consult Sofia" EOOD. The project includes a complete architectural renovation of the reception building, increased energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources, providing an accessible environment for all passengers.
