Deputy Minister Genovski and Minister Karakachanov validate a stamp on the 140th anniversary of the Bulgarian Armed Forces

The Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Dimitar Genovski, and the Defense Minister, Krassimir Karakachanov, validated a post stamp on the occasion of 140 years of the establishment of Bulgarian Armed Forces. The philatelic product is the most appropriate way for expressing gratitude for the high morale and patriotism of the thousands of Bulgarians serving in the army, Deputy Minister Genovski said during the ceremony. In his words, our country has always prided in institutions such as the Bulgarian Armed Froces. “It is no surprise that the first thematic stamp in the history of Bulgarian philately was dedicated to the heroism of the Bulgarian warriors. In the far 1902, a stamp depicting the battles at Shipka Peak was printed”, noted the Deputy Minister.

The designer of the stamp is Alexander Vachkov, one of the best connoisseurs of Bulgarian Army’s uniforms.

Earlier today, Deputy Minister Dimitar Genovski, together with the Chairman of the Union of Bulgarian Philatelists, Spas Panchev, and the Bulgarian Posts Executive Director, Deyan Daneshki, validated a commemorative edition on the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Union.
