Ivaylo Moskovski: The delay of “Struma” Motorway endangeres human lives daily

In order for the "Struma" Motorway to be completed, we should realize that it is an object of national significance and that human life is more valuable than the life of any protected plant or animal, said the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski during the ground breaking ceremony of lot 3.1 of the Motorway to Greece.

The site, the construction of which started, today is another example of synchronization and teamwork of MTITC, MRDPW and RIA, pointed out the Minister.

Minister Moskovsky appealed to everyone to be wise and responsible in the forthcoming public EIA discussions on the remaining sections of the project.

Ivaylo Moskovski stressed the readiness of the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications to continue to do the outmost to turn into reality the highway to Kulata.

"The “Struma” Motorway would have not been built up to this moment without the consistent policy that we follow during the three cabinets of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov. Everyone sees how fast, easy and comfortable the voyage of people between Greece and Bulgaria has become. It is our duty as a European state to prevent the delay in the implementation of the remaining section of the motorway because it is one of the fundamental principles of the European Union - the free movement of people, goods, capital and services", Moskovski said.

Lot 3.1 of “Struma Motorway” is 12.6 km long. The cost of the construction activities amounts to about 167 million BGN with VAT and is financed under OP on "Transport and Transport Infrastructure".
