Minister Ivaylo Moskovski attended the celebrations on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the commissioning of the first railway line in Bulgaria

The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski attended the celebrations on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the commissioning of the railway line Varna-Rousse. The celebration dedicated to the first railway line in Bulgaria was marked today with an attraction journey. The jubilee composition was pulled by a steam locomotive 03.12 and was constituted also by a wagon from the royal composition of Tsar Boris III - "Corona Express."

Minister Ivaylo Moskovski opened together with the Mayor of Kaspichan Milena Nedeva a jubilee plaque at the railway station of the town. During its opening, the Minister said that he hopes to be found soon funding for the modernization of the railway line Varna-Rousse.

I believe that within a few months we can also ensure sustainability of railway transport at least for the next 10 years, added also Minister Moskovski. He congratulated all railway employees and their families on the occasion of today's holiday, wishing them good health and prosperity.

The construction of the railway line has begun in Rousse and Varna simultaneously. The construction has ended with its joining near Kaspichan railway station. The railway line, connecting the largest sea port and the largest river port in Bulgaria, was opened on 11.07.1866, when was traveled first the distance of 222.7 kilometers between Rousse and Varna.
