Minister Rossen Jeliazkov and the President of the National Assembly Tsveta Karayancheva validated a postage stamp on 140 years since the adoption of the Tarnovo Constitution

Minister of Transport and Communications Rossen Jeliazkov, National Assembly Chairman Tsveta Karayancheva, chairman of the State Agency "Archives" Michael Gruev and the Mayor of Veliko Tarnovo Daniel Panov validated a postage stamp dedicated to the 140 years of the Constituent Assembly and the adoption of the Turnovo Constitution .

The brand is a symbol of a notable event in Bulgarian history, Minister Jeliazkov said during the ceremony. According to him, the author of the publication Ivelina Velinova has recreated the spirit, the atmosphere of Veliko Tarnovo, which at the historic moment, 140 years ago, was the center of the reviving Bulgarian statehood. The mark also includes fragments of the Turnovo Constitution. For the last 20 years, this was the third post-philatelic edition dedicated to the Constituent Assembly, Minister Jeliazkov said.

The participants in the ceremony stressed that the Turnovo Constitution is one of the most democratic and modern-day basic laws, which introduces the rule of law, the separation of powers, political pluralism and the protection of property.
