Minister Rossen Jeliazkov participated in the EU Informal Transport Council

On 29 and 30 October, Minister Rossen Jeliazkov took part in the Informal Council of Transport Ministers of the EU. The Ministers discussed the legislative proposal of the European Commission on the termination of summertime switch and the Bulgarian party highlighted the importance of a harmonized approach and a realistic transition period. In the session on road safety, the significance of the issue for Bulgaria was pinpointed.

Within the joint session of the transport and environment ministers, dedicated to clean, safe and accessible mobility for Europe, Minister Jeliazkov highlighted the necessity to clearly define the set climate objectives and the legislative proposals on Mobility Package I. He further pointed out that the vehicle-return requirement results in increasing empty trips and thus the set climate goals remain unachievable.
