Ministers Ivaylo Moskovski and Goran Sugareski discussed progress on Тransport Corridor 8

The Minister of Transport, Information Technologies and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski and the Macedonian Minister of Transport and Communications Goran Sugareski held a working meeting today in Sofia. The reason for the talks was the commitment of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov to the implementation of the main priority in the program of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union on the Connectivity of the Western Balkans.

The main emphasis in the talks between the ministers was placed on Transport Corridor 8, and they both discussed in details the progress of the construction of the segments. The connection between Bulgaria and Macedonia as well as the possibility of co-financing of the remaining sections of the road and railway infrastructure in both countries was the other topic that Moscovski and Sugarski discussed.

The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications pointed out the possibility of seeking a common option for the construction of road, rail and digital infrastructure with Macedonia. He assured his colleague that for the construction of the other sections of the transport corridor he could rely on the full support of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov as well as MTITC.

The development of Transport Corridor 8 is to be discussed at a meeting between Minister Ivaylo Moskovski and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy of Albania Damian Gjiknuri.
