NPGD, Economic Police, RTAEA and NRA conducted a joint action against unregulated taxi transport

National Police DG, Economic Police, Road Transport Administration Executive Agency and National Revenue Agency conducted a joint action against unregulated taxi transport of passengers in Sofia.

The operation involved illegal actions through a mobile application that operated mainly in the country's major cities and offered a wide range of transport services, including taxi transport. The inspections were carried out in the area of Sofia Airport and the parking lot of a large retail chain, using the "mystery shopper" method. In one case it was found that the driver was working with his personal car, and in the second - with an official car owned by a private company. The two drivers did not issue payment documents for the offered service and did not have a license to carry passengers for a fee.

The drivers were sanctioned and the vehicles were prohibited, the license plates were removed and the documents of the cars were confiscated. Files have been opened on the cases. The operations for control of the unregulated taxi transport will continue.
