Rossen Jeliazkov: All the topics in the sector are important and they are being worked on

All topics in the transport, IT and communications sectors are important and work has not stopped. This was announced by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rossen Jeliazkov during a meeting with representatives of the Association of Industrial Capital in Bulgaria. In his words, the main task of the MTITC management is to avoid stressing the ministry's system, continuing the implementation of the targeted policies and taking adequate action to solve the pressing issues.

Business representatives have informed the Minister that in recent years there has been a sharp decline in staff in various sectors of the economy, including in transport. They highlighted various reasons for this, as one of the obstacles they have identified as an example is the requirement for pilots to hold a master's degree that does not exist in other European countries.

During the talks the mechanisms for dealing with unregulated passenger transport, the assignment of bus services to the municipalities were discussed. Recent issues related to the development of the railway transport, the rolling stock renewal as well as the improvement of the road and railway connectivity in the country were also affected.

Minister Rossen Jeliazkov said he would rely on industry support and assistance to timely map out specific issues and offer practical solutions so as to preserve the competitive principle that is a guarantee for better service delivery.
