The Bulgarian airspace has no structural problems and we are ready to share our positive experience in managing it. This was stated by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Rossen Jeliazkov, during the debate on the future of the Single European Sky, which took place at the Transport Council meeting in Brussels.

“The traffic in the Bulgarian airspace has almost doubled in the last 5 years. Nevertheless, Bulgaria provides and is ready to continue providing air traffic services without delay, thereby supporting the European network. We have achieved this through the implementation of effective solutions and preventive planning. Thus, despite the intense traffic, the Bulgarian airspace is not a narrow place in the network and there are no structural problems. Problems with airspace capacity in Europe can be solved through the implementation of similar practices and technologies," said Minister Rossen Jeliazkov.

In his words, reorganization of the airspace should be done only where it was needed, without neglecting or compromising well-functioning decisions and achievements. The Minister pointed out that Bulgaria was pursuing a consistent and proactive policy to ensure the necessary capacity and safety.
