Rossen Jeliazkov: The first convoy of Bulgarian trucks left from Nova Gorica, Slovenia

The first convoy of Bulgarian trucks left from Nova Gorica, Slovenia to Bulgaria. This was announced by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Mr. Rossen Jeliazkov at an emergency briefing. The trucks have to cross a Trans-European Corridor, passing through several countries from Italy to Bulgaria.

"The first group of trucks leaving Nova Gorica is already moving in a convoy. We expect to resolve the issue with those located in the interior of Italy. I personally keep in contact with the drivers and the good news is that the decision was made by the Croatian and Serbian governments to ensure the transit of the Bulgarian trucks. They are also expected to leave for our country within a few hours, but the situation is extremely dynamic and changes with each passing hour, ”stressed Minister Rossen Jeliazkov.

"I am also in constant contact with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of Serbia, Ms. Zorana Mihajlovic. I received her assurance that the transit corridors will continue to exist, just as Bulgaria has guaranteed transit traffic. Delivery of goods and raw materials should not be hindered, ” said Rossen Jeliazkov categorically.

The Transport Minister further informed that an organization was set up to book seats for the ferry via Ancona, Bari and Brindisi, so that the hauliers could also use this opportunity to transit with ferry through Greece, where the route is also guaranteed.

The Minister stated that signals could be submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' 24/7 emergency call center at 02/948 24 04.
