First international symposium on 5G, organized under the EC COMPACT project within Horizon 2020 Framework Program

The first international symposium on 5G, organized under the EC COMPACT project within the Horizon 2020 Framework Program, will be held on 14 May 2020. Registration for the event is free and allows you to communicate directly with participants and speakers in real time.

The rapid development of technology is pushing humanity out of its comfort zone. The uncertainty and anxiety caused by the unknown affects us all, including researchers, scientists, politicians, industry and many people who are still trying to cope with the use of existing devices in everyday life. As a research project focusing on the implications of media convergence  in social, political and economic life, the COMPACT team feels obliged to address some of the 5G-related issues in a way that is not often seen in academia.

The 5W for 5G Symposium will answer the questions 5W: Who? What? Where? When? Why? on 5G - 5th generation wireless technology.

The symposium will take place on May 14 from 12:30 GMT - 16:00 GMT and will be held as an online webinar through the ZOOM platform with about 15 speakers and up to 270 registered participants. The working language of the webinar is English and translation will not be provided. The symposium will be broadcast live on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/compact.media.eu ) for a wider audience and additional feedback. In addition, a special virtual reality (VR) space has been created for free, an open source solution from Mozilla Hubs (https://hub.link/M4teCU2 ). The ZOOM platform will connect to the VR space during the event so that VR participants can also communicate with the speakers.
