Digital society security is a shared responsibility of governments, civil organizations and businesses. This was the message of 150 top cyber security experts at an international conference in Sofia. The Cybersecurity Challenges Conference was organized jointly by the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications and the State e-Government Agency as part of the official program of the first Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Dimitar Genovski validated two postage stamps in a souvenir sheet "140 Years of the Russian-Turkish Liberation War". This is the fourth joint post-philatelic product between Bulgaria and Russia, the Deputy Minister said during the ceremony. According to him, the theme of the Russian-Turkish war is one of the most popular in the Bulgarian philately . It began in the early 20th century.

 

Bulgaria takes over the Presidency of the Council of the EU in a period with very intensive digital agenda. This was stated by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Ivaylo Moskovski during the hearing at the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) - European Parliament.    

Bulgaria will propose a 5th Generation High-Speed ​​Internet Balkan corridor, which may be parallel to the current road links that are under construction between the countries in the region, announced the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski at a meeting today in Sofia with Roberto Viola, Director-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology of the European Commission.

The 170th anniversary of Hristo Botev's birth was marked today by the validation of a postage stamp. The stamp of the edition was placed by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski, the Mayor of Sofia Yordanka Fandakova, the President of “Hristo Botyov” Foundation Boyan Botyiov and the artist Stoyan Dechev.

The Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Dimitar Genovski, along with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Georg Georgiev, the Mayor of Sofia, Yordanka Fandakova, the Ambassador of the USA, Eric Rubin and the Ambassador of Spain, Javier Perez-Griffo validated a postage stamp. It is dedicated to the Spanish diplomat Julio Palencia (1884-1952), who saved hundreds of Jews during the Holocaust.

The Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Dimitar Genovski, The Honorary Chairman of the Union of Philatelists in Bulgaria Simeon Saxe-Coburg Gotha and the Mayor of Pleven Georg Spartanski validated two post-philatelic publications. They are issued in celebration of 140th anniversary since the Pleven Epopee, 40 years since the establishment of the Pleven Panorama and 110 years since the establishment of the Military History Museum.

Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Dimitar Genovski and the chairman of the Communications Regulation Commission Veselin Bozhkov validated a postage stamp on 20 years since the establishment of the independent regulator.

The postage stamp dedicated to the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union will be our country’s visiting card. This was stated by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Ivaylo Moskovski during a ceremony for validation of the special postal-philatelic edition. Minister Moskovski, together with the Minister for the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU 2018, Lilyana Pavlova, the artist of the projects, Todor Angeliev and the Executive Director of Bulgarian Posts EAD, Deyan Duneshki launched in use the postal-philatelic edition.  

The ancient ritual "Nestinarstvo" is the theme of one of the post-philatelic editions, which will be put into usage in 2018. The thematic plan for issuing postal products and special postal stamps was approved by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski.

Ensuring a reliable and predictable legal framework for the electronic communications will stimulate the investment in high-speed connectivity and the competition of digital networks and services. This was stated by Deputy Minister of transport, information technology and communications, Dimitar Genovski during the Council of ministers for Transport, Telecommunications and Energy, “Telecommunications” format, in Luxembourg.

The Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Dimitar Genovski, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brazil, HE Ana Maria Sampaio Fernandez and the President of the Union of Philatelists, Spas Panchev presented a postal philatelic edition that will present Bulgaria at the World Philatelic Exhibition in Brazil from 24 to 29 October. The validation ceremony was part of the opening of the International Collector's Fair Bulcollecto 2017 in Pavilion No 7 at the International Fair in Plovdiv.

The Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Dimitar Genovski, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation, Anatolii Makarov, the cosmonaut from the International Space Station, Oleg Skripochka, the First Cosmonaut of Bulgaria, Georgi Ivanov and the Chairman of the Bulgarian Astronautical Society, professor Petar Getsov validated a postage stamp. The edition named “60 Years Bulgarian Astronautics Society”.

All database on existing and planned infrastructure will be gathered within an electronic platform based on geospatial data - "Single Information Point". The project is implemented by the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications (MTITC) and is financed under Operational Program on "Good Governance".

The Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications (MTITC) invites mayors from all over the country to attend the Informational day of the initiative of the Council and the European Parliament - WiFi4EU (free access to wireless internet). The purpose of the forum is to acquaint local government representatives with the opportunity to get funding for projects for free access to the World Wide Web. The European Commission will provide 100% of project cost and the beneficiaries will be provided with vouchers amounting to 20,000 EUR.

Bulgaria will take part in the World Stamp Exhibition "Bandung 2017, Indonesia" with a special exhibit on "Old Watches". The validation stamp of the edition was placed by Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Dimitar Genovski, the Ambassador of Indonesia to Bulgaria H.E. Mme Sri Astari Rasjid, the President of the Union of the Bulgarian Philatelists Spas Panchev and the CEO of “Bulgarian Posts” EAD Deyan Daneshki.

Bulgaria will work to provide radio spectrum for the latest generation 5G telecommunication connectivity, stated Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski during a discussion within the Informal Meeting of Ministers for Competitiveness and Telecommunications of the European Union. The forum is held today in Tallinn, Estonia. Ministers also signed a Joint Declaration under the motto "Making 5G a success for Europe".

A postcard dedicated to the 180th anniversary of Vassil Levski's birth is from today part of the rich philatelic series of the Apostle of Freedom. The validation seal was placed in Karlovo by Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Angel Popov and by the Mayor of the Municipality Dr. Emil Kabaivanov.

The dynamic growth of e-commerce in recent years is a significant factor for the postal sector, that was stated by Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Dimitar Genovski during the talks with representatives of the State Post Bureau of the People’s Republic of China. One of the main goals of the official visit of the representatives of the Chinese postal administration in Bulgaria is the development of cooperation in the exchange of postal items between the two countries.
