Bulgaria took over the chairmanship of the Regional Advisory Committee for Civil Aviation Search and Rescue

This year Bulgaria will be the chair of the Regional Advisory Committee for Civil Aviation Search and Rescue (RASARAC). DG Civil Aviation Administration today took over the rotating chairmanship of the Committee from the Civil Aviation Agency of the Republic of North Macedonia.

The Presidency will organise and hold meetings of the Management Board and expert working groups to address issues related to cross-border cooperation, operational procedures and agreements, training and preparation, and search and rescue oversight.

RASARAC is an inter-Balkan committee aiming to formalise, standardise and improve regional cooperation for more efficient conduct of international search and rescue operations in aviation accidents. Bulgaria joined the committee in 2021. It also includes the national authorities responsible for aviation search and rescue of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, the Republic of North Macedonia, Hungary, Serbia, Montenegro, Slovakia and Slovenia.
