Bulgaria is ready to host the Regional Cyber Security Forum for Europe in 2020. Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rossen Jeliazkov stated this during a meeting with the Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union, Houlin Zhao. This will be the fourth edition of the forum holding in Bulgaria.

I have appealed to seven more countries to support the postponement of the Mobility Package I for the next European Parliament. The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Rossen Jeliazkov announced this, during today's briefing. He emphasized    that following yesterday's vote on the agenda of the upcoming European Parliament meeting it is clear that a number of countries, which are not currently in the like-minded group, show hesitation. "These countries are Portugal, Spain, Ireland, Greece, Slovenia, Slovakia and Croatia.

Initiatives on attracting more women in the field of information and communication technologies were presented among the countries from the BSEC region at a workshop. The Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications hosted the event, which is part of the Bulgarian Presidency of the BSEC Organization. The participants agreed that attracting women in ICT sector is part of the national policies that need to be developed.

In the next few months we will define the scope of the projects in the transport sector, which will be implemented in the period 2021-2027. This was announced by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rosen Zhelyazkov during an international conference "European Solidarity in EU Investment Policy". The event is organized by the Regional Development Committee of the European Parliament and the Chamber of Builders in Bulgaria.

Bulgaria has the ambition to become a supercomputer center in Eastern Europe and can be a partner of Armenia in high-speed connectivity projects. This was stated by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rossen Jeliazkov at a meeting with his Armenian counterpart, Hakob Arshakyan. The conversation is part of the program of the eighth meeting of the Bulgarian-Armenian intergovernmental commission for economic and scientific-technical cooperation in Yerevan, which is headed by Minister Jeliazkov.

Within two years there must be at least one functioning charging station for hydrogen and one being under construction. This was announced by the deputy minister of transport, information technologies and communications Angel Popov during the opening of a workshop on the introduction of fuel cells and hydrogen. He specified that the construction of the first hydrogen station in the port of Burgas is at an early stage and in the long term several more locations for charging infrastructure are being discussed in Sofia, Stara Zagora and Rousse.

By 2025, we will build the rail connection with Northern Macedonia. This was announced by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rossen Jeliazkov at the first meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation between the two countries, which took place yesterday and today in Skopje. The Commission is chaired by Minister Rossen Jeliazkov and Minister of Economy of the Republic of Northern Macedonia Kreshnik Bekteshi.

Iran has an active partner in the face of Bulgaria for the development of the Multimodal Corridor Black Sea-Persian Gulf. This was announced by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Rosen Zhelyazkov, during a working meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Dr. Seyed Abbas Aragichi.

"Both countries have traditionally good relations in land transport, which are based on the geostrategic position of Bulgaria and this potential should be used in the future", Minister Zhelyazkov also pointed out.

The suspension of the concession procedure at Sofia Airport requested by BSP is not provided for in the Concessions Act and there is no legal basis. This was stated by Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov during a briefing, in connection with a request by MPs from the BSP, to stop the concession procedure.  The Minister clarified that the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, not the State, is the concessionaire of the procedure.

The European Parliament's Committee on Transport and Tourism rejected the two reports regulating the ban on resting in the cabin trucks and the posting of drivers in cross-trade operations. This was announced by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Rossen Jeliazkov, following today's vote on the Mobility Package I in Brussels.

Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rossen Jeliazkov presented the Bulgarian position on the Mobility Package I during a meeting with one of the dossier rapporteurs, Wim van de Camp. The Ministers of Transport of Lithuania, Hungary and Poland also attended the meeting and supported the Bulgarian position. Jeliazkov informed Wim van de Camp for the upcoming protest of the Bulgarian hauliers in front of the European Parliament, which is appointed for tomorrow during the vote on the Package.

We should use all means of European bureaucracy to defend national interests during the voting on Mobility Package I in the European Parliament, said the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications following today’s meeting at which were discussed the incoming actions before the review in the Transport Committee in EP on January 10, 2019.

We have prepared legislative proposals on the Mobility Package I, to be submitted by the Bulgarian MEPs to the European Parliament. This was announced by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rosen Jeliazkov after a meeting with representatives of the branch organizations in the road freight transport.
