Deputy Minister Velik Zanchev participated in the Third 16+1 Transport Ministers Meeting

Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Velik Zanchev participated in the Third Meeting of Ministers of Transport of the countries from Central and Eastern Europe and China. The event, which was held in the period 16-17 October 2018 in Belgrade, was opened by the president of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlović.

During the Meeting Deputy Minister Zancev outlined the main transport links in the west-east direction, as well as the opportunities for combined transport. “Capacity and functionality of the two Black sea ports of Varna and Bourgas give good approaches for sea-to-rail or sea-to-road freight transshipment operations“, he also added.

Velik Zanchev noted that the existing port infrastructure in Bulgaria is of high density and has free port capacity available. “Development trend of our sea ports is related to the active attraction of private investors for their construction and management activities”, stated the Deputy Minister as well.

Value, added by cooperation in the framework of the 16+1 initiative, is of particular importance for Bulgaria, said in conclusion Deputy Minister Zanchev.
