EA Maritime Administration hosts Integrated Maritime Surveillance in the Black Sea meeting

Institutions involved in maritime surveillance of the Black Sea need to develop a unified data exchange environment, which can be achieved by involving the country in a common European information sharing environment. This was discussed at today's meeting in Varna to report progress on the project "Integrated Bulgarian Maritime Surveillance (InBulMarS)".

Executive Agency "Maritime Administration" organized the meeting attended by representatives of the partners in the project - Border Police, Customs Agency, Navy, Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company and Executive Agency “Fisheries and Aquaculture”.

The subcontractors reported the financial results to date and presented the activities to be carried out by the end of the reporting period. The main objective of the InBulMars project is to prepare a study to determine the needs and requirements for improving cross-sectoral information exchange in the field of maritime surveillance.

The total budget of the project amounts to 238 820 euro, with a grant from the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund amounting to 191 056 euro. The timeline of the project is two years, the deadline for completion of the planned activities being 31 December 2018.
