Green Transport Will Be a Top Priority of the New Minister of Transport and Communications Georgi Gvozdeykov

The introduction of green transport will be among my top priorities, said the new Minister of Transport and Communications Eng. Georgi Gvozdeykov at the ceremony of acceptance of the management by the former head of the institution Hristo Alexiev. The work on the recovery plan for Bulgarian Posts and the implementation of the Recovery and Resilience Plan projects are the other important tasks for the new team. Georgi Gvozdeykov stressed that it is important to quickly resolve the issues with the contested orders for the supply of new rolling stock for the railway transport. ‘What has been done will be continued and built upon. The most important thing is to show results that are important for people as quickly as possible,’ he said.

The outgoing Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Hristo Alexiev said that it was also important for him to continue the work on the rehabilitation of Bulgarian Posts, the implementation of the projects under the Operational Programme on Transport and Transport Infrastructure, the Recovery and Resilience Plan, as well as the emergency medical assistance by air.

‘We have an excellent opportunity for geopolitical positioning in the region,’ Hristo Alexiev added. In this regard, we have launched a number of projects and intensified work on the Middle Transport Supply Corridor between Asia and Europe, he added.
