The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Rossen Jeliazkov has presented projects on digital and transport connectivity amounting to BGN 1,8 billion. The presentation has been performed during the online discussion on the Third Pillar of the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan of the Republic of Bulgaria, which the Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev has organized. The Director General of National Railway Infrastructure Company, Krasimir Papukchiyski, the Rector of “Todor Kableshkov” University of Transport, Prof.

The Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technologies and Communications Andreana Atanasova, the Speaker of the National Assembly Tsveta Karayancheva and the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Bulgaria Temirtai Izbastin validated an edition dedicated to the friendship between Bulgaria and Kazakhstan. It consists of two postage stamps. The first depicts the philosopher, mathematician, musician and astronomer Abu Nasr Al-Farabi. He was born 1150 years ago on the territory of today's Kazakhstan.

The Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications together with the State e-Government Agency have presented to municipalities and branch organizations the draft proposal “Connected Bulgaria”, part of the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan of Bulgaria. One of the main objectives is to build a modern and secure digital infrastructure, and to overcome the territorial imbalances related to the bandwidth allocation in broadband access networks. That has stated Mrs. Andreana Atanasova, the Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications.

The new lane for transport of refrigerated goods at Kapitan Andreevo-Kapıkule border checkpoint should be launched as soon as possible, and the fees for Turkish carriers entering Bulgaria or transiting through the country should be abolished. These two issues were part of the topics discussed by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rossen Jeliazkov and the Deputy Minister of Trade of Turkey Riza Turagay, in the framework of a meeting held today at MTITC.

Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rossen Jeliazkov isolated himself until he received orders from the Sofia Regional Health Inspectorate. The reason for the personal decision of Minister Jeliazkov is his participation in an event with the Prime Minister and Ministers on Friday. In accordance with current regulations, Minister Jeliazkov restricts his public contacts until the coming out of his coronavirus test result.

The state is ready to support taxi carriers to alleviate the economic consequences of COVID-19. This was announced by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rossen Jeliazkov within a meeting with representatives of the taxi industry.

Bus undertakings applying for financial support will be assessed only on admissibility, without evaluating project proposals. In this way, the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications (MTITC) guarantees simplified rules for submitting documents and maximum objectivity of the process. Each eligible candidate will be able to receive funding. Thus, the connection between the bus carriers and MTITC will be direct, without the need for them to use consultants and pay fees and commissions.

From 10:00 o’clock tomorrow (October 21, 2020) bus carriers will have the opportunity to apply for funding under the financial support measure. The deadline for applications is 17:00 o’clock on November 10, 2020.

The Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Andreana Atanasova and the founder of Academic Circus ”Balkanski”, Alexander Balkanski launched in use a postal-philatelic edition. It is dedicated to the 200-year professional tradition of Balkanski Family.

With 30 million BGN will be supported the bus/coach transport companies in order to cope with the COVID-19 consequences, said the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rossen Jeliazkov during the official signing of the Agreement on the provision of grant assistance under the measure “Assistance of MSE, that carry out bus/coach transport operations, to overcome the economic consequences from COVID-19 through the implementation of a support scheme by the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications”.

A postcard with a collector's circulation of 511 pieces was validated today on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Children's Choir of the Bulgarian National Radio. The seal for putting into use was put by the Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technologies and Communications Andreana Atanasova and the chief conductor of the children's radio choir Venetsiya Karamanova.

 "The state intends to be proactive in using the EUR 1.2 billion provided by the European Recovery and Resilience Facility where there is no business interest and business approach." Changes of driving exams, that are in preparation, will guarantee the higher level of training quality and will reduce unfair practices. It became clear during a press conference related to the public consultation on the draft Regulation on the amendment and supplementation of on the conditions and order for training of applicants for obtaining driving license for a motor vehicle and the conditions and procedure for issuing a permit for their training.

Bulgarian projects for digital transition under the European Mechanism for Recovery and Sustainability will be prepared in synergy between the state and business. This was stated by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rossen Jeliazkov at a meeting on his initiative with representatives of the State Agency for Electronic Government, the Communications Regulation Commission and mobile operators.

A postage stamp marked the 170th anniversary of the Irish journalist James Boucher’s birth. The validation seal was put by the Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Andreana Atanasova, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Ireland HE Michael Forbes and the Executive Director of Bulgarian Posts Deyan Daneshki.  

Rail freight transport proved to be reliable and efficient in the time of crisis, as in Bulgaria there was an increase of transport of goods in the second quarter of 2020 approximately by 17% compared to the same period in 2019.  This was stated by Mr. Rossen Jeliazkov, Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications during a videoconference of the EU transport ministers. The topic of the forum was "Innovative rail transport - connecting, sustainable and digital".

E-services and e-documentation will be introduced in driving schools under the draft Regulation on the amendment and supplementation of Regulation № 37 on the conditions and order for training of applicants for obtaining driving license for a motor vehicle and the conditions and procedure for issuing a permit for their training.

“I call on students not to underestimate the development of the transport as a sector. In the coming decades digitalization and decarbonisation, as key EU policies, will focus mainly on transport connectivity. On the other hand, information technology is part of our way of life regardless of whether we wish it so brightly or not”, said the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rossen Jeliazkov during the opening ceremony of the 100th anniversary academic year of the University of National and World Economy (UNWE).

The third stage of the metro provides connectivity from the airport to the stations and bus stations, which will allow a very fast spillover of passenger flows between different modes of transport. This was stated by the Minister of Transport, Information Technologies and Communications Rossen Jeliazkov, who together with the Mayor of Sofia Yordanka Fandakova and the Director of the Sofia Metro Stoyan Bratoev, inaugurated a section of the third line of the metro.
