We made the first step towards blue economy development in the Black Sea region. This was announced by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Ivaylo Moskovski after the adoption of the Ministerial Declaration on Cooperation in the Black Sea Region. The document was endorsed by the Black Sea States at the Ministerial Meeting in Burgas in the presence of Commissioner for Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Carmenu Vella.

Systematic appeal of tender procedures for railway projects incurs risks for Operational Program Transport and Transport Infrastructure 2014-2020, announced Galina Vassileva, Head of the Program managing authority, at the ninth session of OPTTI Monitoring Committee, 29-30 May, in the town of Pravets. She further added that there is an urgent need to amend the Public Procurement Act or the state runs the risk of losing significant resources under EU funds by 2020.

Publishing procurement data allows for better control when utilizing public resources and provided new business opportunities, stated the Deputy minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Dimitar Genovski, at the opening of the conference Superpowers of procurement data - Public procurement data for EU businesses and policies. The event took place in Brussels and was organized within the framework of the Bulgarian presidency of the Council of the EU.

Deployment of hydrogen mobility in electric transport is among the priorities of the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, announced Deputy Minister Anguel Popov at the opening of the Hydrogen Summit in Sofia. In his words, the matter relates to the update of EU Directive No 94 on deployment of alternative fuels infrastructure.

By 2025 ten hydrogen vehicle fueling stations will be set up, announced the Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Anguel Popov, at the presentation of hydrogen automobile technologies at the National Palace of Culture. In his words, there is no a single charging station in the country while hydrogen technology gets ever more popular. “For that matter, the government approved of a national program for alternative fuels market development”, noted Deputy Minister Popov.

The main topic during the talks was Sinotrak's plan to build a heavy trucks assembly plant in Bulgaria.  The company is well known on the European market and already has offices in some European Union countries.

Plovdiv Airport concessionaires will invest double the amount that was initially envisaged and in shorter terms. This emerged from the meeting between the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski and representatives of the Consortium between Hainan and Plovdiv Airport Invest. The initial version of the concession set out sight investments amounting to 79 083 000 Euros for a 35-year term. Following the completion of the legal procedures, a concession contract is to be signed.

Investments amounting to EUR 4,320 billion are needed for the construction of all priority railway lines by 2030, announced the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski during a discussion on transport projects in the Western Balkans. The event is organized by Ivaylo Moskovski and is part of today's Western Balkans - European Union Summit.

After last night's meeting between Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, the French President Emmanuel Macron and the German Chancellor Angela Merkel, I am optimistic that the Mobility Package will be adjusted and objectively reflect the Bulgarian haulers’ demands." The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Ivaylo Moskovski stated this before the protesting haulers in the capital. In his words, most of the arguments were accepted during the talks and a readiness to approve the texts proposed by the Bulgarian side was also expressed.

The postage stamp, dedicated to the first Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, will remain in time, both with its philatelic and symbolic value. This was stated by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Ivaylo Moskovski during the validation of the second post-philatelic edition dedicated to the Bulgarian mandate as the leader of the European Union.

With regard to the statements that the state has not protected the rights of the Bulgarian hauliers during discussions of the Mobility package, we are obliged to present as a matter of fact a short chronology of the process related to the Mobility package so far. On  May 31, 2017 the European Commission presented Mobility Package I to all  member states. The Bulgarian side immediately expressed its clear, categorical and unambiguous position, which was approved by the Council of Ministers upon the proposal of the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications.

More than 3000 Bulgarian trucks will come out of the European market due to certain texts in the Mobility package. This was stated by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Ivaylo Moskovski at the conference "The European Future of Transport from Central and Eastern Europe".

Still today we start to work together with the team of EU Commissioner Bulc on particular texts concerning the Mobility package, said the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski after yesterday’s meeting, held at the Council of Ministers with the Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, EU Commissioner for Transport Violeta Bulc and representatives of the road hauliers.

Submitting applications for project financing under the European Commission’s initiative for free public wifi WiFi4EU starts tomorrow, 15 May 2018, at 2 pm. Some 222 Bulgarian municipalities, which account for 84% of the total number, are expected to participate in the first competition under the initiative.

Central Railway Station Plovdiv is another good example of management of transport sites through public-private partnerships, Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski said today during the opening of the renovated railway station building. The event was also attended by Minister of Interior Valentin Radev, Mayor of Plovdiv Ivan Totev, Governor Zdravko Dimitrov, Director General of NRC Krassimir Papukchiyski and others.

Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski met with Eamonn Brennan, Director General of the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation EUROCONTROL.

During the visit, the long successful cooperation between Bulgaria and EUROCONTROL and the challenges to the air traffic management related to the constantly growing traffic in Europe were discussed.

Eamonn Brennan praised the contribution of the Bulgarian aviation specialists to the air transport development in the region.

The Bulgarian government supports hauliers in their requests regarding the European Commission's controversial proposals in the Mobility Package, the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski announced after today's talks with representatives of the Bulgarian hauliers with Prime Minister Boyko Borissov. He said that the firm support of the government to the industry's demands concerning the Mobility Package that is being discussed in Brussels has been declared during the meeting.

In Bulgarian philately has long been a column of sport glory and one of the most revered people there is the sports legend Georgi Asparuhov. This was stated by Krasimira Stoyanova, Director of the Legal Directorate at the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, during the validation of a post-philatelic edition for the 75th anniversary of the Bulgarian footballer's birth. The seal for putting the edition into use was also put by Krasimir Ivanov, the Executive director of the Football Club "Levski".

It is important for us the Cohesion Fund and the European Regional Development Fund to continue providing the necessary support for the realization of the Trans-European Transport Network in the period up to 2030. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Anguel Popov during the Austrian Forum "Transport Infrastructure", which took place in Sofia.
